Position Title:

External Description: As part of BorgWarner's IT Performance and Strategy Office, the Supplier Relationship Manager (m/f/d) is responsible for the active establishment, development, maintenance, and benchmarking of vendors, partners, and suppliers of BorgWarner in the area of IT Operations.

The Supplier Relationship Manager will define and control Service Level Agreement standards (SLAs) and ensure BorgWarner experiences the value committed in supplier agreements. This includes cost-management, performance improvement, and supplier-governance. The Supplier Relationship Manager (m/f/d) will work in close relationship with the corresponding service owners, and the GSM Global Category Manager for Outsourced Services. The definition of supplier relationship operational strategy is owned by this role and is supported by Purchasing (GSM), Finance, and Legal. This role will be a primary liaison between IT and supporting functions such as Global Supply Chain Management (GSM), Finance, and Legal.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Operational ownership and governance of the IT-vendor/partner and supplier-partnerships (SLA based)
  • Focal Point for IT strategic vendors (research & selection) with GSM
  • Benchmarking and financial discipline are key to drive these relationships to positive effect and outcome
  • Direct liaise into BorgWarner Global Supply Management group including strategic governance oversight in regards to extended vendor-evaluation criteria like "technology-road mapping", "innovative thinking", "customer-first-attitude", "risk-management" (financial, operationally, regulatory,..)
  • Influence and inspire peers and service owners to create a proper mindset and attitude towards vendors and their management
  • Understand and assure monitoring of service level performance while using a supplier scorecard-process
  • Define vendor-specific optimization possibilities and own them from design to implementation and maintenance
  • Outline the strategic, contractual and operational relationships with vendors, suppliers, and partners - challenging but fair!
  • Operate as the Go-To-Person within the IT Performance and Strategy Office as well as for its stakeholders in supplier-relationship affairs


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or other related degree
  • 5 plus years professional experience in multiple capacities with a track record of exceptional delivery
  • 2 plus years of experience managing multiparty service delivery such as strategic account management, purchasing, customer success

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Outstanding strategy development and financial management skills
  • ERP (SAP), BI tools, Microsoft/SharePoint knowledge and experience is a plus
  • Ability to deliver outcomes in a global, matrix organization with diverse stakeholders and priorities
  • Ability to get results by working through systems and relationships to drive execution in a team with matrix reporting structures
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across many stakeholder groups (shop floor, department managers, IT Service Leads, Regional Sr Managers, BU IT heads, and Corporate Executives); work harmoniously and effectively as part of a global team
  • Results oriented with strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Strong constituent relationship skills
  • Ability to understand complex business requirements and recommend solutions
  • Ability to understand and implement new technologies
  • Ability and desire to solve complex issues/problems
  • Understanding/experience of database technologies
  • Knowledge and experience with IT controls and governance
