Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Monitor process performance, improve manufacturing efficiencies, and reduce scrap for assigned parts.
- Utilize statistical methodologies to determine and successfully resolve process variation.
- Document and update process related changes on PFMEA / CP / PF using AquaPro software.
- Determine acceptability of non-conforming material when outside of normal internal process limits.
- Work with suppliers and customers to understand their needs and help resolve issues and concerns.
- Champion new component launch for assigned products.
- Review and recommend product drawing changes for suitability of manufacturing.
- Provide engineering oversight for eight (8) sintering furnaces, one (1) endothermic generator, and the Carrier Finishing Cell.
- Lead projects to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience (minimum qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering or other related technical field; Automotive Process or Manufacturing focus preferred.
- Five or more years working as a member of an Engineering or Quality group focusing on process control, documentation, and problem solving. Experience within powdered metal environment preferred but not required.
- Proven record demonstrating the use of APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flowcharts.
- Extensive knowledge of continuous improvement, problem-solving, and manufacturing principles utilizing Lean Manufacturing and / or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Employment record demonstrating evidence of manufacturing process implementation and improvement, followed by successful process performance.
- Recognized ability to partner with operations management and to deal effectively with customers and suppliers on quality issues.
- Excellent organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Self-starter with a high energy level.
- Experienced leader with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to establish credibility within the organization based on expertise of job function
