Cascadia Motion is manufacturer of electric vehicle propulsion system solutions. Specifically this means inverters, motors, gearboxes and supporting equipment. The company owns the project from concept design through in-house manufacture and after-sales support. Products are typically prototype to mid-volume but with a volume graduation pathway into other facilities within the parent company's network of plants. Our customer base is extensive and international ranging from OEM to startup and spanning across all vehicle types.

We have locations in both Hood River and Wilsonville, Oregon (USA). In this role, you will do your work at our Wilsonville location.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

This role reports to our Managing Director and will be a lead voice to our management staff on all subject related to electrical engineering and product development. The ideal candidate has leadership experience and agility and is also able to operate as a strong individual contributor within a small-team setting. S/he will interface across the organization on all engineering matters, guiding our future products and support of current ones. S/he will also play a strong role in customer support of our products' usage.

You will play a key role in the organizational and business growth so, great communication skills and process development capability are important. You must be able to work under tight timelines, have an entrepreneurial spirit and value product excellence.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor overall project technical activities to ensure customer requirements are achieved
  • Develop and analyze new products (propulsion inverters)
  • Present Technical Presentations to Customers
  • Attend regular project meetings and technical reviews with the project team(s) as necessary and approve technical milestone completion
  • Communicate regularly with CM management and administration regarding project status and deliverables
  • Manage departmental conflicts of budget or other resource constraints of engineering
  • Promote and advance the overall CM product line

Participate in and help facilitate a positive, healthy and safe culture within the company
  • Lead Customer and Supplier Visits as Necessary
  • Travel as required and Solve Technical Customer issues

Create new product technical directions and cost reduction strategies

EDUCATION and QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's Degree Preferred)
  • Industry experience in power electronics (especially EV inverters) is a strong preference
  • At least 10 years' experience directly related to the skills listed below
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems, interpret technical design data and develop creative solutions to complex problems
  • Ability to interact with a variety of internal and external customers is critical
  • High degree of technical design skill
  • Ability to mentor and lead technical team members effectively
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Technical and budgetary knowledge
  • Ability to recruit new engineering talent
